Pink knows all about the ups and downs of marriage — and she’s always been open to talking about them.

In the new Amazon Prime Video documentary All I Know So Far, which was released on May 21, fans get a closer look at how Pink and her husband, motocross racer Carey Hart, manage their relationship and life on the road with their two children, daughter Willow, 9, and son Jameson, 4.

Ahead of the film’s release, Pink was candid with People about how hard she and Carey have had to work to make their 15-year marriage last. As she explained to the outlet, they’ve adopted a “no quit button” policy when it comes to their relationship.

“But it’s also couples’ counseling. Learning how to speak the same language, ’cause we don’t speak the same language,” she told the magazine. “We love being a family. And we both come from families that gave up, and that’s okay. That was their journey, that was the journey we all were supposed to be on. But for us, we don’t want to do that.”

Later on in the same interview, Pink talked about her enthusiasm for counseling and therapy, while also acknowledging that her marriage has had its fair share of good days and bad days.

“Long-term relationships are not easy. It is much easier to stay in the solid days and jump from relationship to relationship, because then you don’t have to fix the problems that keep recurring,” she continued to tell People. “You have to end up fixing yourself; you can’t fix the other person.”

Later on, Pink added: “I think it’s an impossible expectation for you to think that you’re going to evolve at exactly the same pace as another person in exactly the same direction. So it takes work to redefine what’s important. I don’t want to break up my family. That’s been my main goal, since I had a broken family. So sometimes you have to let it go. You can’t die on every mountain.”

And so far, Pink and Carey have stayed true to that main goal since tying the knot in 2006, albeit when they temporarily separated in 2008. Thankfully though, it sounds like the two have found a more productive way to reflect on their near divorce.

“I think deep down he’s flattered,” Pink told People about how Carey feels about their split being the inspiration behind some of her music. “He has been my muse. He knows what he signed up for, and the hits are just going to keep on coming, as they say.”

Pink and Carey’s love story dates all the way back to the 2001 Summer X Games in Philadelphia, per PopSugar.com. Right away, Pink told USA Today that she fell for Carey’s bad-boy vibes. “After you spend a couple of nights in the hospital with him when he’s broken, the excitement wears off,” she clarified.

According to Brides, Pink and Carey continued dating until 2003 when they split for the first time. After getting back together in 2005, Pink pulled off a surprise proposal. Per US Weekly, the “Raise Your Glass” singer stood on the sidelines and held up a board that said “Will you marry me?” during Carey’s Pro 250 class racing finals in June of that same year.

“He was never going to ask me because I said no so many times,” Pink recalled to USA Today.

After walking down the aisle in a Costa Rica beach ceremony in 2006, they broke up a second time two years later. The pair reportedly wound up reuniting soon after Pink asked Carey to be in her music video for the 2008 smash hit “So What.”

In 2011, the pair welcomed Willow into the world, followed by Jameson in 2016.

Though it hasn’t always been an easy road for Pink and Carey, the two now appear to be stronger than ever — and part of that seems to come from their honest expectations of marriage.

“Marriage is awful, wonderful, comfort and rage. It is boring, terrifying, and a total nail biter. It is loving another fallible creature while trying to love yourself,” Pink wrote on Instagram in September. “It is a lifetime of coming back to the table. People laugh at us because we’re either fighting or laughing. They roll their eyes when we talk about therapy. But I’ll tell you what. It’s worth it. All of it.”
