Little Lili has yet to meet her cousins, as she was born in Santa Barbara, California, where her parents now live full-time. However, she joins quite the brood of young royals including, of course, her brother Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Despite the distance, Lilibet’s connection to her royal relatives holds strong, as her name is a tribute to both her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and late grandmother, Princess Diana.
“Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales,” the couple explained in the birth announcement. They also added, “The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.”
