He was an in-studio technician behind the cameras, and she was an anchor and meteorologist in front of the cameras. This is how Dylan Dreyer of the Today show and NBC News met her husband, Brian Fichera.
The story goes that they first crossed paths when they both worked the morning shift over at the WHDH station in Boston, Massachusetts. Apparently, Dylan thought Brian’s name was actually Tom, so it quickly became an inside joke between the two of them to call each other the wrong name. But it wasn’t long before the two realized that they were meant to be.

“When he started working more, he’d hang out more in the Weather Center with our friend Todd. The three of us starting hanging out more and more outside of work, building our friendship and getting closer,” Dylan allegedly wrote on their wedding blog. “After a few years, we had a small party at Brian’s house which we dubbed the Jammy Jam. It was then that I realized I had totally fallen for him and from there it was history!”
In July of 2011, Brian reportedly proposed to Dylan on the front porch of his parents’ house. “When I saw there were roses and two glasses of Champagne, I knew,” Dylan told Boston.com.
A little over a year later in October 2012, Brian and Dylan made it official at The Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston. Around the same time, Dylan also signed on to join the weekend edition of the Today show.

Not long after tying the knot, Dylan and Brian moved from their house in Boston to a smaller apartment in New York City for Dylan’s job.
“I never in a million years thought I could downgrade to 750 square feet,” Dylan said about the one-bedroom apartment. “Not to mention, share it with someone else.”
But, needless to say, they made it work. And two years later, the couple decided it was time to expand their family. Dylan revealed in June 2016 on Today that she was expecting her first child. Before she gave birth, Dylan released a video diary where she explained just how much her husband helped her overcome her fears of becoming a first-time mom.

“My husband kind of just sits back and reminds me, he’s like, ‘This baby is a piece of both of us … Everything we love about each other, and all the times we enjoy together, we’ve created this wonderful life that is going to be a piece of both of us and it’s going to become part of our lives.'”
“He’s amazing,” she continued. “He’s very supportive, and every time I do get scared, he brings me back to reality.”
In December of that year, the parents welcomed their son, Calvin Bradley Fichera, into the world. The couple may have been nervous at first, but now the two couldn’t be happier with Calvin in their lives.

“I just can’t believe I’m this lucky,” she wrote on Today.com at the time. “When I saw this little guy and watched him dance around and touch his hand to his face, I fell in love instantly. A love I, too, can’t put into words.”
She fell in love once again when she and Brian welcomed their second son, Oliver George, in early January of 2020. “All I do is stare at him,” Dylan said while calling into the Today show a day after giving birth. “I just want to kiss him every second.”

Now, the couple is expecting baby boy number three in November. Dylan shared the joyous news on the Today show while making cinnamon buns with Cal.
“We really enjoy having kids. Calvin and Ollie, they’re so much fun,” Dylan told her Today costars. “And we’re like, ‘Let’s try for a third.’ And it wasn’t happening so we said, ‘Let’s forget it, let’s move on.’ And then, of course, surprise!”

Apart from being parents, the couple also loves to travel across the country together, go out for the occasional date night, golf, and so much more more. Their favorite activity of all? Dylan has said before that the two absolutely love to explore the world together. But even when they’re not jetting across the globe, the love between Dylan and Brian is clearly strong.
“All my joy, my laughter, my smiles,” Dylan wrote on Instagram about Brian. “My whole world is because of you and the life you’ve given me.”
