The Voice has a season 20 winner — and his name is Cam Anthony.
On Tuesday’s second part of the season 20 finale, Cam of Team Blake was crowned the champion after a lively show featuring guest performances from Gwen Stefani, Justin Bieber, Thomas Rhett, Snoop Dogg, Maroon 5, Kelsea Ballerini and more. To win the competition, Cam received more votes than finalists Kenzie Wheeler (Team Kelly), Rachel Mac (Team Nick), Victor Solomon (Team Legend) and Jordan Matthew Young (Team Blake).
From day one, Cam made a big impression on coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas and John Legend. In the blind audition round, Cam turned three chairs and took everyone by surprise with his stunning rendition of Sam Smith‘s “Lay Me Down.” After Blake promised to “keep a lane open” for Cam throughout the competition, the young singer decided to go with the country singer as his coach. In the Battle and Knockout rounds, Cam performed Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber‘s “10,000 Hours” and Nina Simone‘s “Feeling Good” with grace and ease, quickly becoming a fan favorite in the competition.

Following his finale performance of Cynthia Erivo‘s “Stand Up,” Blake had nothing but great things to say about the artist as a performer and person. “On my 20th season, God put this young man in my life on The Voice that may change everything for this show,” the country star explained. “I want people out there to know that the only thing bigger than Cam’s talent is his heart and his mind.”

The minute host Carson Daly announced Cam as the winner, his fans erupted in celebration on Twitter. “YAY CAM DESERVED THIS,” one fan tweeted. “CAM ANTHONY Y’ALL. The best from day one,” another declared. “i’m so happy that cam won. it was absolutely deserved. congrats @CamAnthony,” a different fan said.
That said, there were a handful of Voice viewers who were hoping Kenzie would’ve been crowned the champion instead. “I am shocked that Kenzie didn’t win,” one viewer wrote. “WELP…… #TheVoice I mean I’m happy for Blake though. But just disappointed that it wasn’t Rachel or Kenzie ????,” a fan commented. “@KenzieWheeler You got robbed I’m sorry you’re the winner in my book,” a different viewer noted.

Though Kenzie’s fans and other viewers rooting for Victor, Rachel or Jordan may be feeling a bit disappointed at the moment, we’re sure all of these artists will continue to soar with or without The Voice title.
As for Cam, he will enjoy his prize of a recording contract with Universal Music Group. Despite Blake’s long criticism of the record label for not doing enough to help promote winners of The Voice, the “Honey Bee” singer previously told Cam that he believes he can go far in the industry.
“I’ve never had more people ask me about an artist on my team in 20 seasons of doing this show, man,” Blake told Cam in the top 17 round. “You could be the first superstar that we launch off this show.”
Cam certainly is on his way to superstardom now. Major congrats to him and all of The Voice finalists this season!
