We know there is some strong DNA floating around the royal family gene pool, with each generation bearing strong resemblances to their relatives above. And while the Sussexes may now have departed from working royal duties, it’s no different for them. Because new footage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s two-year-old son Archie shows him looking very like his mother in an old photo from the archives.
A picture shared on Twitter, which was a snapshot taken from Prince Harry’s new Apple TV+ series with Oprah Winfrey, The Me You Can’t See, shows little Archie playing happily on a swing set in the back garden of the family’s Montecito, California home. The toddler’s curls — which, by the looks of the photo shared side-by-side on social media, are clearly inherited from Meghan — can be seen as he clings happily to the swing rope.
The picture posted alongside the Archie snapshot, by Twitter user @troubleshade, was an old one of a baby Meghan Markle. The caption reads, “Archie been looking a lot like Meghan,” and she’s not wrong. The resemblance is so clear in the mother and son’s facial features — their eyes, noses and mouths — as well as their adorable curls.

Meghan Markle is currently nearing the end of her pregnancy with Archie Harrison’s little sister, after the Sussexes announced their pregnancy on Valentine’s Day this year. The Duke and Duchess confirmed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that they were expecting a little girl, and there is naturally already some speculation about what she might be named.
Some have suggested the couple might opt for the name Lily — a shorter version of the nickname, Lilibet, that Prince Philip called the Queen for so many years. Following the Duke of Edinburgh’s death last month, there is suggestion this could be an indirect tribute to both he and Prince Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, but we’ll have to wait until Baby Girl Sussex is here to find out.
In Prince Harry’s new TV show, where the new clips of Archie debuted, the royal spoke candidly about the death of his mother, Princess Diana and how he tried using drinking and drugs to cope with the emotional pain and trauma he subsequently experienced.
Opening up about the anxiety and panic attacks he suffered between the ages of 28 to 32, Harry said: “I was just all over the place mentally. Every time I put a suit on and tie on, having to do the role and go ‘right, game face’ in the mirror … Before I even left the house I was pouring with sweat. I was in fight or flight mode.”

On the topic of alcohol and drugs, the prince added, “I was willing to drink, I was willing to take drugs, I was willing to try and do the things that made me feel less like I was feeling.”
