When it comes to daytime talk shows these days, Kelly Clarkson has steadily been rising to the top of fabulous hosts. And if you haven’t taken the time to catch an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, well … maybe this Ariana Grande cover she did a few months back will convince you to tune in. Either that or the news that she’s replacing Ellen DeGeneres’s show time slot on NBC!

Kelly is about to step up to an even bigger TV job, and it’s an exciting venture for the singer. She is officially taking over Ellen DeGeneres’s daytime TV slot when the Ellen DeGeneres Show ends its 19-year run in 2022. In the words of the hit movie Yours, Mine, and Ours, I say this: “Go, Kelly! Go, Kelly!”

NBC is looking forward to bringing the Voice coach on board in a bigger capacity. “The Kelly Clarkson Show is one of the most optimistic success stories in first-run syndication,” NBCUniversal Syndication Studios VP Tracie Wilson told The Hollywood Reporter about the move. “It is a treasured part of NBCUniversal Syndication Studios offering and we are proud to partner with the NBC Owned Television Stations group to continue the show’s success. Kelly and our entire production team put their heart, intent and incredible passion into making a show that resonates with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. We’re working on some big plans for season three and are looking forward to becoming the premier show in daytime for years to come.”

All we can say is this: Congrats to Kelly on the big news! And please, for our sake … can you dedicate a segment to song covers alone? We’d welcome that very much, please and thank you.
